I was in the mood for something slow and angsty today (I’m blaming the heat), and Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” was one of the first songs that I thought of as I scrolled through my music.
It’s such a pretty, almost simple song, filled with longing and regret:
Smile like nothing’s wrong,
so when I miss you I can remember.
So I can draw your face in my mind.
My selfishness that couldn’t let you go
turned into an obsession that imprisoned you. (x)
The MV compliments this song pretty well, too, starting with an extreme closeup
of a hot and shirtless Taeyang and then pulling slowly, inexorably outward on such a barebones set that the thematically appropriate pyrotechnics at the end takes you entirely by surprise.
It’d be a good song to cry over if you’re in the aftermath of heartache, is all I’m saying.
