You know, just a little light reading.
- The Park Geun-hye saga: “Park Geun-hye aides indicted for doctoring time log of Sewol sinking report,” “Panel accuses former Park aides of illegally pressuring labor organizations,” “Was Park Geun-hye asleep while Sewol ferry was sinking?” and “Seven-hour mystery about Park, Sewol solved.”
- Investigations into the Lee Myung-bak government: “Arrested ex-President once again rejects questioning,” and “Court extends ex-president Lee’s detention in corruption probe.”
- “Elementary school social studies textbooks to include accounts of the candlelight revolution.” Wow, I don’t even think my high school textbooks cleared the 1980s. That’s a pretty fast turnaround.
- #MeToo: “Court denies arrest warrant for ex-Gov. An on sex offense charges,”
- “Coexisting with Others in a Hate-Steeped Society.” An interview with Director Lee Young about Lee’s film documentary film Troublers, which focuses on hate groups and the “troublers” they rally against.
- “The Ocean Between Jeju’s Island Natives and Mainland Newcomers.” A look at the cultural divides between Jeju and mainland people.
- “Court weighs question of granting retrials for those imprisoned during 1948 Jeju Uprising” and “April 3 Massacre on the Olle Trail.” *points to above entry* Like this massacre and military crackdown.
- “‘Nut rage’ heiress takes control of hotel network.” Frankly, I hope someone engraves that title on her tombstone.
- “Feminist novel becomes center of controversy in South Korea.” Apparently fanboys lose their damned minds when women read feminist novels. (Psst, is Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982 available in English?)
- “Jang Geun Suk And Han Ye Ri’s Drama “Switch” Premieres At The Top Of Its Time Slot.” Still not double digits.
- “Choi Ji-woo announces ‘surprise’ wedding.” Congratulations!
- “‘Along With The Gods 2’ Casts Jo Han Chul And Kim Myung Gon To Take Place Of Actors Removed Due To Controversies.” Good.
- “Misty screenwriter gets candid about the show’s shocking ending.” Probably less than you’d hoped for, honestly.
- “Finding ‘Something in the Rain.'” I’m still bitter about not being able to watch this.
