Spring is (possibly) on the horizon, so that has put me in a chipper mood. Here’s hoping it lasts.
- The PyeongChang Paralympics: “PyeongChang Paralympics come to close with fireworks.”
- The Park Geun-hye saga: “Park Geun-hye refuses to be questioned on Sewol.”
- Investigations into the Lee Myung-bak government: “Lee Myung-bak arrest warrant relies heavily on accusations stemming from DAS,” “Court to decide on ex-President Lee’s arrest without hearing,” “Ex-President Lee arrested over corruption,” “Lee Myung-bak likely to face corruption charges,” and “Prosecutors to question former first lady over involvement in Lee’s alleged corruption.”
- #MeToo: “Police seek arrest warrant for theatrical director in sex assault probe,” “Ministry eyes legal revisions to criminalize verbal sexual harassment,” and “Prosecutors seek arrest warrant for ex-Gov. An over sexual violence,” and “Jobseekers endure sexual discrimination at interviews.”
- “Students protest school ban on outerwear.” Holy shit, let the kids wear coats on the way to school. IT IS COLD. Have them put them away as soon as they get into the school or something, but yikes.
- “‘Black Panther’ statue toppled in Busan.” Leave T’Challa alone!
- “Private spending on education No. 1 in Korea.” That doesn’t even count private instruction costs.
- “Lineup finalized for South Korean musical performances in Pyongyang next month.” Huh.
- “YouTube wipes out K-pop ‘reaction’ videos.” Oh, hello copyright law.
- “The Gift an Immigrant’s Experience Gives to Our Society.” A personal essay about immigration and asking questions.
- “Woo Do Hwan In Talks For New Film Alongside Park Seo Joon.” Woo Do-hwan as a villain? Interesting.
- “Jang Ki Yong And Jin Ki Joo Confirmed As Leads In New Drama.” Will you be checking it out?
- “Jung Kyung Ho, Go Ah Sung, And Park Sung Woong Confirmed For Remake Of ‘Life On Mars.'” I never watched the original. Is it any good?
- “Jang Hyuk And 2PM’s Junho Confirmed To Join Jung Ryeo Won In New SBS Drama.” Okay, this is one title I hope gets a completely unrelated English title.
- “New SBS Drama Park Shin Hye Is In Talks For Changes Plots Completely + Her Agency Responds.” I would be wary of this.
