- Investigations into the Lee Myung-bak government: “Testimonies indicate former president Lee was aware that NIS funds had been illegally diverted” and “Political maelstrom follows Moon-Lee spat.”
- “Government postpones ban on English classes for kindergarten.” The ban has been moved back a year.
- “20 Years after the Asian Financial Crisis, Remembering the Women Who Lost their Jobs.” An essay examining the impact of the AFC on Korean women.
- “Graduate students establish labor union to fight unfair treatment.” The students from six graduate schools formed the National Graduate Student Labor Union last month.
- “Push to End South Korea Abortion Ban Gains Strength, and Signatures.” A look at the current and historical legality of abortion in South Korea.
- “Late K-pop star Kim Jong-hyun’s final album to see posthumous release.” It will be released on Tuesday, and the proceeds will be going to his mother, who will be setting up a charitable foundation.
- “UEE And Kim Kang Woo Confirm Casting In New Drama.” Even when we get an actress in her late 20s, she’s still ten years younger.
- “CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa quits TV show amid controversy over academic favor.” Yikes.
- “Park Shin Hye Considering Offer To Lead New Drama By “Romantic Doctor Kim” Writer.” But will the lead be age appropriate if she accepts it?
- “New TV series ‘Mother’ calls attention to motherhood, child abuse.” I’m a little worried about possible negative stigma re: single mothers in this drama, so we’ll see how they handle that.
- “‘Two Cops’ Comes To A Good End With Highest Ratings And No. 1 Spot.” Congrats to them, but what ever happened to the days of 20%?
