Heading into the final stretch

I took a moment today to take stock of what my drama year has been like, and I’m a little sorry to say it hasn’t gone as well as I’d hoped. According to my drama list, I started thirteen different dramas this year; of them, I only completed two and am currently trying to catch up on a third (Flower in Prison).  Which I think was better than 2015, but that really isn’t saying all that much, especially considering the two I did finish ended up being mediocre.

So far as I can tell, there are only three new dramas on the horizon for December, and of those three, only one interests me. (I’ll be adding all three of them–Goblin, Solomon’s Perjury, and Hwarang–to the drama calendar tomorrow.) There’s the White Christmas (Re)Watch at the end of December,  but otherwise my kdrama landscape is pretty barren.

There are a couple of 2016 dramas I missed out on the first time around that I’m considering checking out (Age of Youth is top of the list). What about you? How has your year been so far? Will you be joining the White Christmas (Re)Watch? Do you have any suggestions for 2016 shows I ought to give a chance?

I’m planning to eventually check out The Man In Our House (it looks fluffy) and figure out what Fantastic was all about, because of the enthusiasm of one of the kdrama watchers I follow. The last several years the big drama for me was right at the turn of the year, so we’ll see…
Oh, and Signal aired this year? I’ve heard mixed things, but the kind that make me think I’d have to check a few episodes to see if I’d like it.

I’ve heard some good things about Fantastic! I just don’t think my heart is up for a cancer drama.

As for Signal…meh. I got tired of it killing all the women, but a lot of people I know adored it, so.

My taste is more eclectic than most, but here goes my 2016 completed list in no particular order:

Jang Yeong Shil–loved it. Good for science nerds.
Remember A Son’s War–liked it. Slow start, then picks up
Working Mom, Parenting Daddy–loved it from beginning to end
Start Again–surprisingly funny. Really picks up speed after Ep. 40
Second to Last Love: Good start, but I should have dropped it. :>(
Page Turner–awesome A+ show, huge meltdown inducing ending
The Good Wife–another awesome A+ show with a meltdown ending
DotS–Shut brain off and watched Capt. Lazarus and crew having fun.
The K2–loved everything except the Subway PPL
W Two Worlds–loved it. Exceptional allegory and storytelling.
    Five Children–pretty good. Enjoyable watch.
38 Task force–lost plot trail after 11th episode, but still liked it

Damn, I’m impressed. That’s so many shows! (I hadn’t even heard of some of those.) Looks like you had a pretty good year on the whole, though.
